The Pelosi Premium on Gasoline is Bad for Central Florida
The average cost of a gallon of gasoline just reached $4.08- a $1.75 increase since Nancy Pelosi took
over as Speaker of the House.
Dear Friend,
With the start of the summer upon us, it should be a time when families are wrapping up the school year and
making plans for a family vacation. Due to the skyrocketing costs of gasoline, many families are struggling to
afford to get to work, much less plan a family road trip.
Since the Democrats took control of Congress the average cost of a gallon of gasoline has increased $1.75. The
Democratic solution to the problem is raising the gas tax by 50 cents a gallon, placing a new tax on carbon
emissions, and blocking any attempts to increase domestic energy production.
This will make gas more expensive at the pump and increase our dependency on foreign energy.
That is why I support an energy plan that will:
• Drill here at home now- technology exists to safely explore for energy without causing harm to our
environment,
• Promote the development of new, clean sources of energy such as nuclear power and clean coal,
• Streamline the process to make it easier to construct new refineries and expand existing ones,
• Provide tax incentives to conserve energy.
I am committed to developing effective and fiscally responsible solutions to our nation's current energy crisis.
Rest assured, this remains one of my top priorities here in Washington.
Warm Regards,
