U.S. Supreme Court's decision on Handgun Ownership
Dear Friend:
I wanted to drop you a note today after the U.S. Supreme Court's historic decision striking down the Washington,
D.C. ban on handgun ownership.
I'm pleased the court recognized what many of us have believed for a long time: The Second Amendment to the
Constitution protects our individual right to keep and bear arms.
I'm proud to have been on the side of gun owners and sportsmen during my tenure in Congress and I'm grateful to
the National Rifle Association (NRA) for endorsing me once again this election.
In fact, since my first election to Congress I've racked up an "A" rating from the NRA for my efforts on behalf
of law-abiding gun owners.
The decision by the U.S. Supreme Court is more than just a victory for those who live in Washington, D.C. Judges
across the country have a powerful new precedent to follow. Denying the rights and protections of one amendment
is to deny the rights and protections of them all.
Please take a moment to fill out the "Volunteer" section on my website to help keep me fighting for you in
Congress!
Warm Regards,
